Wooden Animal Memory Matching Game

Montessori Educational Benefits

This beginner wooden memory game introduces toddlers to cognitive recall and turn-taking through endearing, recognisable animals. The solid wooden tiles are substantially thicker than standard cardboard cards, making them easy for little fingers to flip without bending or slipping.

• Visual Memory & Recall: Remembering spatial positions trains short-term visual memory and mental mapping.
• Language Development: Provides natural prompts for naming creatures, discussing animal habitats, and practising sounds.
• Turn-Taking & Social Skills: A wonderful first cooperative or competitive game for building patience and conversational skills.

How to Play

Start with 3 to 4 pairs face-up on a low table to teach the concept of identical matches. Once understood, turn the tiles face-down in an orderly grid. Players take turns turning over two tiles at a time; if they match, they keep the pair. Continue until all animal pairs have been discovered.
